This app is currently only available in English to users in the US. Other eligibility requirements for this app:

• Users 13 or older.
• On a Windows 10+ desktop device.
• Have a personal Google Account that you manage on your own. For now, Search Labs and its experiments are not available to Google Workspace accounts, including Google Workspace for Education accounts.

heh i was like they have finally brought back google desktop search. but nope this is all gemini. it does not index your local content. best you can do is open a file and use it to run gemini on screen grabs of the file's content lol. i guess it was an intentional choice to not call it gemini for windows like their macos app for gemini also released this week.
