HP ePrint is a similar technology. The problem is that you need to buy a new compatible printer for it to work.

Google Cloud Print would bring the same ability to all existing printers.

google cloud print is required for devices like the google chromebooks, smartphones and tablets. cloud printing is not a feature, it is a necessasity.
