The Hindu Business Line : Google pushes for Net neutrality in India
Google starts pushing for network neutrality in India

Internet giant Google has written to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India pushing for Net neutrality which will enable consumers to access services and products irrespective of the operator.
“An open Internet is good for Indian consumers and businesses. To unlock the full potential of a national broadband network and the Internet access it will deliver, it is crucial to implement policies that maintain the Internet's fundamentally open, neutral, non-discriminatory nature,” Google said in its response to TRAI's consultation paper on the national broadband plan.

i hope TRAI listens and FUC*s the FUPERS

YouTube Caught in Net Neutrality Flap in India

now this
The New York Times > Log In
WASHINGTON — Google and Verizon, two leading players in Internet service and content, are nearing an agreement that could allow Verizon to speed some online content to Internet users more quickly if the content’s creators are willing to pay for the privilege.

The charges could be paid by companies, like YouTube, owned by Google, for example, to Verizon, one of the nation’s leading Internet service providers, to ensure that its content received priority as it made its way to consumers. The agreement could eventually lead to higher charges for Internet users.

Such an agreement could overthrow a once-sacred tenet of Internet policy known as net neutrality, in which no form of content is favored over another. In its place, consumers could soon see a new, tiered system, which, like cable television, imposes higher costs for premium levels of service.

guess it will be soon here too.

say good bye to the old net.

google and verizon proposal has NOTHING to do with India.

O really tata docomo and mts blaze have already started two tier net in wireless.the letter from google was not promoting net neutraltiy but stating that we need tow tier net in wireless.

corporates will make even more $$$ with BWA

what have they done? are they blocking some sites/services on their primary offering? are they charging more for access to some specific online services? do you really understand what network neutrality is all about?
