well the aim with the large storage is to provide a single place to provide all your storage. multiple accounts nullify that purpose. most people would kill to get the ability to go through their entire personal database with a single search box. google provides that ability.

i dont think ppl need mails older than 5 yr.. and ur current a/c (tom in my example) will always have recent mails and other important mails.what i have assumed that u wud keep deleting unimportant mail from main a/c. and archives will remain in "5year" mailboxes.plus my idea is that, just in case something happens to main OR single account then EVERYTHING is gone. with mail forwarding u still have all backup.

heh. in 10 years from now, email archives would become something like your life's history. i would personally like to have access to it all from a centralized location. my gmail box around 25% full so i have no need to get this paid storage but this is a good new development. i am guessing paid accounts would have a better chance of surviving a google ban that is applied for some weird reasons on gmail accounts.

and u have to create backup account once in 5yrs and no need to maintain.plus u can also setup POP fetching in tom (main) account to fetch (but NOT delete) mail from tom.XXXX.YYYY and deliver directly to trash!!that will make sure that ur tom.XXXX.YYYY always remains active and not marked as dormant and does not get deleted :D

may be admin cleared the poll completely because of bug.

oh well the poll is a result of merging of multiple threads. i cannot seem to find an option to remove it or enable it again.heh. had to take a complicated route to fix the poll. vbulletin is seriously messed up with polls.

i think google had launched similar search result page earlier too. but may be they took it off later, as i dont see it anymore.
