that is not safari. but a scorpio. and that is not google's vehicle.

google has clearly stated that they are only doing bangalore currently. and the model shown is Chevrolet Captiva.

Scorpio has a Maharashtra number.

google has also stated that all of their street view vehicles would be properly branded with google logos. so you can easily locate them if they are traveling in your area.
 
oh... and i was waiting for their car to land in mumbai so i that i can be a popular face on google earth :D

google street view has been stopped by bangalore police as policy on foreign companies to collect such data is not present . At present there are several restrictions on foreigners to collect photgraphs and there is also a foreign direct investment policy ( FDI policy ) on investments and participation by foreign comanpanies in Indian media . This form of new media collection needs policy clearance for foreign companies . Also the controversial and often adversorial approach by google and google earth is not finding favour in Indian adminstration
 
i guess the local politicians were not given their due respect. so the government has no regulations. this process can itself take a very long time. and are these regulations not applied on photos taken by the satellites?
