Government extends validity of Vehicle permits

Now, as for the insurance policy, things are a little complicated. MoRTH's letter doesn't explicitly mention vehicle insurance policy but considering that it is a mandatory vehicle document, it is safe to assume that the extension applies to it as well. But does this mean that people should not renew their motor vehicle insurance policy during the lockdown even if they can by the means of online payment? The experts are of the opinion that it is best to renew insurance policy if possible. This is because so far, there is not a lot of clarity about how the extension works. There is a possibility that renewing insurance after 30 June could lead to a possible survey or inspection by the insurance agency, which is an overhead not everybody enjoys. So, to be on the safer side, we'd suggest that you renew the vehicle insurance policy, if possible.

so they have no idea. but they decided to write an entire article about it.

That is how most articles are coming out nowadays. Some articles were suggesting the financial year has been pushed till June 31st. But I think you should get the policy renewed.

@socrates I don't think anyone is going to bother you much as you obviously can't get a PUC online, when did it expire anyway?

insurance ends in the last week of current month. so enough time. would go for online route with 10 day buffer. would still prefer to do it offline if the curfew does end by the mid of the month. keeping low expectations. but it's confirmed that i would renew it by 20th.

Isn't it cheaper to renew vehicle insurance on-line? I don't think I've ever done an offline renewal in the last 7-8 years or so😅
Are there any benefits of doing it offline that I might be unaware of?

none to be honest. though my hyundai dealer sometimes give me some coupons for free washing or even discount on servicing. just a personal preference.

Last para seems important. No mention of PUC anywhere. V strange.
This article just plays a guessing game but the last para could be imp.
@Samuel PUC I did just before the lockdown & insurance I renewed on 30 mar😁
