Are you on UL plan ? I think you are having line issues.i do have them at times. The connectors/jacks on the phone lines get corroded, shorted due to formation of electrolyte kinda substance and then the connection goes absolutely haywire.Check the connectors to see if they look golden and NOT greenish.

@ kanishka

I had the exact same problems for months and months.. :wall:

My usage details would go 30-40 pages long.. And, I tried everything...but this is how I got rid of the problem partially.. [i.e. now my net gets disconnected less frequently..only once in 3-4 hrs compared to once every 5-10 mins]

install a good splitter @ the entry point..where BSNL line enters your house. use the one split of ADSL directly to your modem. Check if you have wiring such that the BSNL line touches electrical wire along the way..like in my case, the building wiring was through a pipe which had the electricity and telephone wires both..
So if you have similar case, change the wiring such that telephone wire does not touch electrical wire..I rewired mine

But after doing the above 2 things, my connection improved drastically.

AND IMPORTANT thing, before you decide to do rewiring or anything like that, check twice / thrice by complaining about line problem @ your exchange that the problem is not from BSNL side...coz most of the times its the issue with their line being damaged or faulty.

you have to be premium user ::rofl:

BSNL Premium User ... ... :readtherules: read the Disconnection Tariff page ...... :icry:
