Some limitations of Zoho books.

1) Employee salary recording along with TDS is manual. (Requires creating two separate entries. One for salary and one for TDS)
2) GST challan recording is manual (although GST set off gets done automatically)
3) GST set off is done automatically but rounding adjustment of tax is not done automatically, so effectively you have enter that adjustment manually. Otherwise overtime there will difference in ledger with GST and ledger of Zoho. i.e. it will not match by exact paise.
4) They have too many default (system) accounts which you can not delete even if you will never do transaction in those accounts.

Can you please tell how ERPnext is good from GST angle?

Also ERPNext is not free for those having turnover of < 1.5 crore.

Can ERPNext:
  1. Automatically go to GST portal and fill all the data (GSTR 1 / 3B / 9) on its own? Completely ready to just submit and file?
  2. Automatically go to Eway bill portal and generate eway bill?
If yes then I can give it a try.

ERPNext is a free and open source software. You can run locally provided you know Python+JS and few other stuff.

We are on a paid plan of ERPNext.com which includes priority support from the team that makes ERPNext, backups etc. This is a highly customisable, enterprise grade solution. Recommended only if you have multiple warehouses/retail locations with multiple POS systems etc.

@amish is there any migration tool available to move masters and data from tally to Zoho...... or the process is manual...... tried looking up at Zoho site... it appears I have to create all accounts and enter data manually ....

Zoho has import feature somewhere if I recall.

There seems to be this tutorial here: (I have not tried)
