Lawsuits may take decades to get a verdict, due to large number of pending cases and other reasons. Unless there is money and/or some sort of influence, there is no way to speed-up the process.

You have to write an email to their local Nodal officer and force them to include your mobile and email under DnD list. Otherwise they will keep on harassing you.

lol its been 5 years they still msg me on whatsapp with new numbers. Fortunately I paid for the router so nothing to return.

edit- its gtpl but i guess jio bought them and they are all merged or something.

@akshay71 Here's what happened with Hathway:

I got my first Hathway connection in 2022 using my primary phone number and email. Then, around late 2024, I saw a flyer in my locality advertising a new plan that seemed like good value. I reached out to the same salesperson who had helped me in 2022, and asked if he could switch my existing plan to this new one.

He told me to contact the billing team, which turned out to be a nightmare. Their customer care couldn't understand my request and insisted that no such plan existed, even though I had seen the flyer in my area. And the AI bot they use kept disconnecting my calls—it was incredibly frustrating. Eventually, I gave up trying to upgrade my existing connection.

So I took a different route: I called the number on the flyer directly. A new salesperson picked up and said he could set up the new plan if I treated it as a new connection. All he had to do was replace the router at my home. He asked me to use an alternate phone number and email to sign up, and told me that if Hathway called to verify, I should just say it was a new connection.

I went along with it and lied during the verification call, saying it was a new connection. Initially, there were some issues with Aadhaar verification, but after I submitted a photo and my driving license, it went through.

The next day, the salesperson came over, took back the old modem, and installed the new one. But he didn’t change any of the external fiber wiring—just plugged the old fiber cable into the new modem. And that's when the real mess began.

Suddenly, I started getting bombarded with messages and calls on my old number—offers, recharge reminders, “limited-time deals,” nonstop. Even during my exams or while I was out, they would call.

I actually followed your suggestion and emailed them before about disconnecting my earlier connection. After 4–5 months of this chaos, the calls finally stopped.

I’ve now stopped recharging my Hathway connection entirely and switched to a different ISP. But they’ve started calling my new number too. I never formally raised a disconnection request because the new salesperson promised he would take care of the previous connection but he didn't so I don't suppose he will do it this time too. When I log into the Hathway portal with my old number, it still shows I can recharge—so clearly the connection was never terminated. Even the email confirmation from Hathway CC saying my account was disconnected turned out to be false.

I still have their modem lying around collecting dust. But I know that even if I return it, they’ll probably keep calling. So what’s the point?

TL;DR:
Got a Hathway connection in 2022 with my primary contact details. In 2024, I saw a flyer for a better plan and tried to upgrade, but their support was unhelpful and the AI bot kept disconnecting. I contacted a new salesperson from the flyer, who offered to set it up as a new connection using alternate details and asked me to lie during verification. After some ID issues, it was activated, but he didn’t change any wiring—just swapped the modem. Soon after, I was bombarded with spam calls on my old number. Despite emailing them, it took months for the calls to stop. I’ve since switched ISPs, but Hathway now spams my new number too. The old connection was never properly disconnected despite promises, and I still have their modem collecting dust.
