Hathway Digital Cable TV: Horizontal lines

Hi all, I just bought 40" LCD TV and I have hathway connection. It was ok with my 21" CRT but with the LCD TV, I am getting horizontal lines, which are moving circular from top to the bottom.Has anybody faced this issue? What is the cause and resolution? Is it harmful to the TV?Thanks,Vishal K

Check that all your video connectors are tightly connected in STB & TV sockets.Then check if Aspect ratio, TV system (PAL/NTSC) are correctly set.If all is ok, then you need to check TV with other source like DVD player, to check if you get lines on that too.If you get lines with DVD player also then problem could be TV, or else something wrong with Hathway STB.

Thanks for the reply.Checked with DVD, it is fine with it. Samsung demo guy told me that it is a common problem with Hathway and told that there is some issue with earthing. Do you have any idea what problem it might be?

r u using hathway stb or direct cable,,,if u r using stb try changing audio/video cableuse cables supplied by tv set

Thanks for your reply.I am using hathway STB. I changed the AV cable to RGB cable. With RGB cable, it is 90% improved but it is still visible

it is samsung 5 series. It works well with DVD without any lines or bands.

Have you tried changing PAL-B/G to NTSC or AUTO.... try playing around with your TV settings
