Yes..it will happen..but only after digitalization..like DTHs Hathway also comes with plans and we can choose what ever we want.
Is this not present now in Hathway/Cable Operators?

Cable operators are already provinding Digital TV(Digital Cable), so is the name of this thread.
So, what i meant was: 'Is "conditional Access" there in current Digital Cable provided by Hathway?'
Who else is providing it, apart from DTH?

It will b available july 1st on wards in metros only.Now it is not available in any cable.

Chennai has CAS from 2003. Hathway used to operate in about 10-15% of the city, and yes at the rates you mention. Not sure if they are still functioning as there was some news of a complete pull out of Chennai. Also, Arasu (Government) Cable was expected to take over all cable in the state including Chennai. While started in other parts of the state, not sure what extent it has reached Chennai

Hathway Helpdesk do you have any news of the DVR STB ?? Is there any plan to launch one at all ?? Please let me know so I can take a decision to buy hathway or videocon for 2nd tv as im sadly stuck with Tata Sky for 1 tv ...

Just came from Hathway Regional Office of my area. It's gonna cost Rs.300/- per month (Monthly Subscription) for Digital TV or just Cable TV. So, no cost difference, but yes, there's quality difference. Installation charge Rs.500/- for Cable TV, whereas it's Rs.1000/- for Digital TV, which includes Set-top Box costs.
