Since few hospitals used to charge exorbitant rates specially if you were covered under insurance, most of them now has packaged prices for generic ailments which are preapproved by the insurance companies. Results in faster approvals and less hassle for the patients.

Ok we got it done on our own charges the tests etc costed 10k

Reason we didn't go for claim is that our current limit and policy is not very comforting and its sad we didn't pay much attention before, however we will be renewing it with some 8 lacs sum assured in floating account, means any member of the family can avail entire sum benefits individual or combined.

If we had gone for hospitalisation and claim the insurance company would have denied our upgrading of policy as the health of the insured was not perfect while upgrade, so it's better to wait and get it renewed and then avail benefits if and when needed

can health insurance be transferred to a new company and still have benefits of no claim and diseases which are covered after specific years ?

Just checked but can only be transferred on renewal time that too minimum 45 days before expiry.............. We have 22 days left so not possible this year

Which scheme do you want to switch into and what are the benefits over what you already own?

The floater plan covers all members in same amount...... For example 5 lac can be used by any insured member individually or can be used by all members combined but total cannot exceed 5 lac, the pro is this that lower premium, problem is that incase of more than 1 member or all needing claim in same year then limit is exhausted and not sufficient in case of major health issues

Maybe we should get individual 5 lac sum for each member will be more premium but better

I think after 3 years they also give 1% of the sum assured for testing. You just have to submit the bill & test reports. Maybe you can submit the tests that has come okay.

Floater has its own advantage & disadvantage like you mentioned. NIA also offers 10% discount in premium if you renew online.

The tests has not come okay except ct scan which was for 6.5K , actually the CT scan didn't reveal the problem but problem still exists, there are other tests needs to be done but this is India our agents are dumb fucks, i dont want to jeopardize our upgradations to higher sum assured, our renewal is due on 22 November, will 1st upgrade and then will see what to do
