help how to connect 2 pc with different os on internet

Hi all
I recently brought bsnl broad band connection with ut300R2U router as i have laptop with ubuntu and desktop with xp i have now connected them to internet one using ethernet and other using usb but now both of them are connected to net if simply router is switched on .

please help me to over come this problem ???

In XP Network /LAN disable or enable the LAN card.
UBUNTU system : Not familiar.

u need to configure username and password into the router ..... then u can connect to internet ........
