@essbebe : modem is UT300R2U.... how to set the rest ???@sankalpit : bw test on dataone returns 1684 K...what next, please ???thanks...

well if you are getting 1600 + ..it is fine now try from speedtest.com and post the results.if you have done the configuration changes as @essbabe it will be fine rest check your snr, attenuation values SNR should be around 25-35 for download and 20-25 for upload attenuation should be as low as possible.IF you are not getting this conttact bsnl and get your lines checked.

thanks...

The next step is to be happy! Stop worrying about speed and start browsing. I get 1600 kb/seconds at best and live about same distance from exchange.

The only way for you to get higher speed is to move residence closer to BSNL exchange. Not practical if you ask me. People who get 1800++ are lucky indeed....

If possible, post a screenshot of your attenuation and SNR figures as seen in modem.

By the way, get your security levels tested too.

............................D/L ...U/L
SNR Margin (dB): 30.4 27.0.... very good higher the better
Attenuation (dB): 40.0 20.0... fair lower the better.
Investigate bad contacts.
ALL Telephone connections AFTER ADSL splitter.
If Working is satisfactory, keep working as it is.
To increase speed etc , try DR TCP and use default values.
DRTCP: How do I use it, & what are all these settings?

hey..your ping is horrible..where you downloading something while running speedtest??

hey..your ping is horrible
for post 1.

thank you all for your kind help...

from Post No 7
are the SNR & Attn. values very high
Question in post 7.

No update/reply on speed to confirm improvement in ping time/s.
Usually thread starter/s forget to update the thread or give proper feedback.
