Help - Setting up ZTE F660 as Modem Only

Hi Guys,
A bit noob here, and got Hathway as a backup provider for WFH situation. I have noticed the wifi on the Hathway provided wifi router (zte f660) is quite bad,and want to use that as modem only.
I can disable wifi and DHCP. After that connect an ethernet cable from ZTE (192.168.2.254) to the WAN port of my Wifi router with an Static IP (say 192.168.2.1)?
Will that work? Or anything extra is required?

Seeking advise from fellas who are already using in similar setup.

It'll work. Keep both the ZTE & Wifi Router on different subnets. Before you disable DHCP, ensure that you do a DHCP bind to the WAN MAC ID of your Wifi router.

ZTE Modem:

IP Address: 192.168.1.1 (Default)
DHCP Bind: -> 192.168.1.2 to the WAN MAC of Wifi Router
DHCP - Off

Wifi Router:

WAN Connection Type: STATIC IP

WAN IP: 192.168.1.2
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1

Hi guys! I am an even bigger noob and have no idea with respect to the equipment or the terminology in this field. I'll heavily rely on your guidance.

So basically I have a gtpl fibre connection with a zte modem cum router. Now I want to separate them 2 to gain the maximum speed and efficiency because I cant get that right now. So if you guys could suggest what I should do, something similar to what @homelybore is doing or anything else that can be done.

I am too wanting a reply from those with a similar setup and wanting to or have done what I propose. TIA.
