sorry... r u downloading through mobile office connection :O they do not give good speeds... they still show as connected @ 921 kbps :hysterical:

921kbps is the port speed and not the internet connection speed... the maximum data transfer rate from your mobile to your pc is 921kbps here... anyways, torrent downloads on mobile office is slow... i say this from experience. try direct downloading and you'll get speeds around 25-28kbps but with torrents you'll always get 2-4kbps.... even when i had 100+ seeders... this is a problem with airtel perhaps.

Hey rageaddict! thnx for de info, but m actually getting lower speeds in a direct download(0.5-1.5 kBps:wall, know any way to sort th this out?

years ago, i used t use a download manager called "anti-leech" on a 128kbps connection and it used to show download speeds of more than "1mbps"... i actually thought it was true until i waited as the same 30mb file took 1 hour to download... i uninstalled the stupid program afterwards.the problem with airtel MO is that it leeches at 56kbps on a single connection... you can notice this while surfing on web pages... the page opens very slowly but a little faster than dial-up but doesn't live up to its name (edge).you notice the difference in surfing pages on 247kbps airtel MO and a normal 256kbps connection, say sify.download managers work differently because they split the downloading file in 8 different pieces (normally its 8) and simultaneously download all these 8 pieces at the same time so instead of a single 56kbps leeching connection, you get 8 times the connections and 56 times 8 is i don't know what but your hardware modem limit would be somewhere around 247kbps.rarely i get 25kbps on torrents but thats after 1am in the night.with direct downloads.. try Download Accelerator Plus... it works like a charm.
