Horrid Battery Life

I have been using 5G on True Thailand for many years now. The connection is on 5G 99% of the time and speed tests show anywhere between 500-800Mbps downloads depending on the location.

I am on Jio 5G for the last few days and compared to my baseline, the battery usage on Jio 5G is much worse. In some cases I can see the battery percentage go down live as I use the phone.

Is this normal? What could be the cause? Just curious as I am not here long and am not affected by this much.

PS: iPhone 14 Pro
PPS: In Thailand, I was using Jio as the secondary sim in roaming. In India I am using a second Jio sim as secondary (both connections are Jio)

I did bit of comparison on my iPhone 12 and Jio Sim 5G usage.
If i keep it on 5G auto, it consumes 30% more battery. If I keep it on 5G on, it consumes 50% more battery. This is in comparison to 4G.
Running latest iOS version.

Yup similar case with iPhone 14 plus

with 4g its 5% drain overnight
With jio 5g its 10% drain overnight

Android is no different. However, with Samsung One UI, there is an option to disable 5G only at night through power saving mode.
