will the laptop connect via wireless?? or both laptop and desktop through LAN? in most cases its already in pppoe mode , so you just need to plug in the LAN cable . if you want both laptop and desktop through LAN then you need to get a LAN hub at your place too , so that the one cable which comes to your place can be used by your two machines

hi.........i wanna connect laptop via wireless....n i already reset all settings on Dl-524.....i wanna use both laptop n desktop for internet only....such that both machine can work together on internet......i don wanna use LAN....

1. Take a LAN cable and connect one end to one of the LAN ports of the DL-524(not the WAN port) and the other to the LAN card of ur desktop or laptop.2. Login in the DL-524's web interface(THREE : Open your web browers, and type"http://192.168.0.1" into the address bar. You should be presented with a login window. The default login info is "admin" for the user name, and an empty password.). 3Under Home>LAN, turn off the DHCP, and assign the Dl-524 any IP within the LAN IP range of ur friend's network (by default it'll be 192.168.1.2-254) for eg. 192.168.1.100 ...save settings and reboot the router.4. Now connect the LAN cable coming into ur house to one of the to one of the LAN ports of the DL-524(not the WAN port). Connect the desktop to one of the 3 unused LAN ports with a LAN cable. You should be able to connect the laptop via wifi as well. If not, re-login to the web interface of the DL-524, find the Wireless settings tab and enable it.
