Someone impressed with the Nokia N900 design (but not the price).. asked me to recommend something at the lower cost (under 10).. I suggested Samsung Galaxy 551 @ 11k... But seeing that the person would hardly use for much else apart from basic use (rarely may use internet a bit).. I thought of this Wave model at 8k,i.e. Samsung Wave 533... and asked him to have a look.. But wanted to check if someone has used the Wave series (with or w/o keyboard).

Well, the person bought some other phone... totally different .. one of the Sony Ericsson dumphones... Glad he did not buy 551 at that point cos it has dropped to 9.5 from 11 in just 10 days from my recommendation :whew: .Anyway people want to give reviews on Wave series - can do so here. But seeing 190 views & no response - Guess the battle is lost before it has began...

I own a wave (S8500). I bought it due to 1) SuperAMOLED screen, 2) Fast 1 GHz processor, 3) 720p HD video recording, 4) Couldn't find suitable Android phone within that price bracket, 5) Was curious about BADA OS. Screen is excellent (I wish it was bigger though. Wave's screen is 3.3 inch). Processor is FAST, response is almost instanteneous (unlike those disgusting symbian phones. I used N73, N82 & E72, All are slow like snail. But Wave is blazingly fast and interface is very cute). Video recording is excellent. You can easily shoot video in moderate light, and see it in a HD TV, and people will think that the video is taken with HD movie camera!! What I like most are the following features that you won't find anywhere else : 1) You can take photos and videos silently, so covert photography is very easy :D And they will be in HD too!!! 2) You can record every phone conversation secretly without any beeping sound. 3) Built-in call & SMS blocker, 4) Fake call simulator 5) Very good battery life (1500mAh battery). These features (As I am told) are not available in Wave II, and no SuperAMOLED in Wave II. The only downside is the OS. BADA is good, but has very small userbase, so you cannot find any usable software for BADA. Only if someone can develop android port for Wave, it will be the best phone at this price bracket.

Samsung is total crap in quality go with LG or some other co. also u wont get much 3rd part support with wave series

Have you heard of Samsung Galaxy range of phones ???

I guess you have not ...that why such an incorrect statement above.

Regarding Bada - my wife uses some version of corby on bada
It has nice features ...but still does not come close to actual android ...

If you like to try new applications and custom ROMS ...go for Android

@soodgautam go threw the post by Anuj who owns Galaxy S in forum obviously u haven't......oh btw did I mention my friend happens to be working for Samsung and he gt this Galaxy S fr free but still doesn't use it as there are always connectivity issues with it.... whether its GPS or what not.....

mate i MYSELF have Galaxy SL :) ...so i dont need to go by one persons post/feedbackIf you ever get time ...visit XDA forums and see the number of people owning Galaxy phones :)PS: - Iggnorance is Bliss

Corby doesn't have bada, only the Wave series phones have it. I use Samsung Wave GT-S8500 and it is amazing, not at all disappointed by it. Some say that bada has a small app store but we shouldn't forget that it is a new launched OS.Bada 2.0 will be out this September, with a new SDK. Expect the sales of bada devices to reach great heights once bada 2.0 is released.
