Yeah.. quite well, I live quite close to Aath Rasta square.

BSNL is worse.. after all its BS Nigam Limited..

You know, many people don't seed because their stuff has already downloaded, so why waste bandwidth on seeding (upload). 200 or 201, one and the same thing. But as Hayai is offering separate data for download and upload at no extra cost, then many more people will be interested in seeding, and because of Hayai Zone, they'll be able to seed at gigabit speeds, and that too for free. So I don't think seeding will be a problem.

Here's hoping. It will help everyone.

Its sad we are not gonna get Hayai....this Diwali.....!! :(
I meant the folks of Nagpur... :/

As much as I'd love to have ubiquitous & nationwide coverage as of October 26th, that's not the case.

If you're not the only person from your locality to sign up, then sure :D

My area is on the map in NCR. How do I sign up for hayai? Is there a way I can be a part of the pilot project?

You can subscribe when our website opens, but as of now we will be rolling out in NCR only in early 2012.

There is no pilot project.

Is it safe to assume that you need an average of three months to expand to new cities, one at a time?

It's not really safe to assume anything.

Some cities will need longer than others due to different cities having different challenges - it may be infrastructure either inside the city or outside the city - it could be RoW, resources, people - anything. Obviously if we can't get our fiber (or a lease on dark fiber) from Mumbai to say, Nagpur, it'll be a little difficult for us to provide an Internet service there.

Major metros (or state capitals, as the case may be) will take the "longest" because we would have to set up local call centers in each for linguistic as well as practical reasons in addition to everything else.

would like to know if uploads are counted in FUP or just dl as mtnl does

They are counted separately, as in (FUP) GB down + (FUP) GB up.

As per my own tests over the last 2 weeks with a symmetrical connection and over 250 seeding files, even reaching 200GB of upload in a month is a challenge: I can reach 50+GB of downloads in a night without difficulty, but 50+GB of uploads took some patience - over a week.

That being said, it could be the trackers or files - maybe if I tried with some Indian or public trackers and a better set of files (blockbuster movies instead of legal torrents), I might see different results.
