How is DSL NU 849??

Hi guys I have a query do we get good download speeds in the DSL NU 849 plan in mumbai.I am planning on shifting to it for the month of December but just want to make sure I would get good speeds with it.Would appreciate if you could reply.Thanks

yes. u get excellent speeds. Read the other topics in this forum. You will get to know the speeds that people get. They say "upto 2mbps" and u get around 1.7 to 1.8mbps depending on the condition of ur telephone line, the distance from the exchange and such other factors.

if your area does not come under malad or kandivili which are facing frequent disconnection issues ;then go ahead and get 849NU pan if you are a heavy downloader.As mentioned earlier by venkz u will get a min assured speed of 1.7Mbps and if are lucky even more

Do you get 1.6-1.7 always? I usually get 200-600 in the day and a bit higher at night. Reaches 1+ rarely. Hmm...

mine is a special case i get an assured speed of 1.9Mbps and sometimes even more.
1.7 Mbps speed i was refering to is what most of the regular members on this forum are getting.

Wow, any logic behind that? My SNR and Line Attenuation figures are good and I do get 1.7 sometimes, but not always. Is there something I need to look for? Router settings or some else?

Which Router do you have?

speed that i am getting has nothing to do with the make of the router .I am still figuring it out the reason behind this speed surge.This speed surge has been going on for 3 months form now. Anyway this speed wont last forever.

I'm tired of switching ADSL modes so I'm wondering what your router setup looks like?Although port forwarding has been done successfully, I'm still getting low speeds compared to bridge mode. Are you using PPPoe or Bridge?Thanks(Or maybe, *thinking loudly*, its vista?)

i repeat i am getting consistent speed of 1.9 Mbps and above.It is definetely not some sort of speed spike.
modulation type:adsl+2
never tried gmt before.
i am using ppoe mode for torrents .It works fine for me.
