technically... u r getting the best speeds that is possible with the current state of infrastructure that MTNL has... so unless MTNL boosts up their infra... nothing can give us speeds more than 1.8 mbps

I've heard there are tricks in the backroom to enable upto 24mbps HyperTransfer speeds on normal MTNL connections, and a hack to change plans, some porn and real hot chicks hang around there ready to date you (and more)....But hey, thats just what I've heard
