My aunt had an BSNL FTTH connection while staying in Odisha. She moved permanently to Himachal Pradesh during October 2022 and filed for disconnection. We went to office, gave them the application, Necessary IDs and paid the remaining dues (I have the last bill payment PDF). We asked if we would receive any written proof of disconnection and they said it's not needed.
Fast forward to 2025, my aunt has been receiving "Pre Lok Adalat notice for making payment of outstanding dues against BSNL telephone connection". The amount is Rs. 307/-. She'll pay the remaining amount but really doesn't want this hassle. She'd even ignore the security deposit. My aunt will not come back to Odisha for the sole purpose of disconnecting an landline. My questions are-
-> Will paying this amount close this connection for good? Will BSNL send another Lok Adalat notice after sometime to pay again?
-> Do I have to visit their local office in Odisha because my aunt cannot?
-> Will talking to customer care 1800-1444 help?
