No matter what circumstances are you can not hit a child like in above picture.

A slap may be acceptable (but should be exceptional case) but above not at all.

Like i said...in this scenario...its totally Teachers fault..i do agree on that.. :)
i am sorry though..i dont agree that a child should not be hit...thorough investigation is required before getting into conclusion..
And by "HIT" i mean i mild slap...a small scale on the hand or so..

Yes in India teachers show their family problem on innocent children.

It was duty of the teacher to warn the child in such a manner so that he does his home work next time.

And not to forget, there is a mental torcher for children, i mean abuse them mentally(I was also a victim of that, just bcz I did not attend one special class bcz teacher was absent and they had arranged for an alternate teacher, till date could not forget it)

To be very frank most of the teachers are mentally sick, and they think its their kingdom to do anything for what ever reason. They always mix their personal things with profession.

I was once slapped by the principal for sitting in class during a sports tournament in school. I still have no idea what wrong I did by just sitting in class.

Just wanted to share my personal thoughts. This law of not hitting the children in present times has made the life of a Teacher a living hell. In a worst case scenario children now challenge teachers openly because they know teachers can't even touch them now. They resort to talking back and mock teachers in front of them. They abuse them. They behave like kings. No sense of discipline. Schools are too scared to act rude to a child because even that can be reported. Children even say this openly like "Mam aap kya kar sakte ho? Agar aap daantoge ya maroge toh jail bhi toh aapko hi hogi." You can only discipline them by using remarks to their parents which more or less gets ignored. This is what I have observed in the school from where I passed out.

Add this to the fact that CBSE openly advises schools and teachers not to fail any student and give them grace marks constantly, students have no reason to abide by any of the schools laws or follow any discipline routine.

^This. Exactly the same situation when I'd graduated from school.

I guess there needs to be a middle ground somewhere. Both extremes are equally horrible.

thank you @navjot...This exactly was my point...and this includes myself as example..if i hadnt had my slaps and rulers on my hand..would have gotten worse...

Nope. Still not in favor of hitting kids in school for the sake of discipline. Just because kids are spoilt at home and not taught how to respect elders does not mean that violence is a viable solution.

Nobody is in favor of hitting them unneccesarily. But this extreme case of getting prosecuted for it and then no failing policy is creating morons and monsters in present day who have the IQ of a pig.

High end international schools might be doing better because their teachers are better paid but for majority of the schools in India where teachers are not Sven paid 1/3rd of the scale and are abused by students, management and parents alike, you can forget about getting your students to learn anything. They are practically uneducated.
