How to enable DHCP

I am using ZTE 831 AII modem. How to enable DHCP ?? is it even necessary to do so? i am currently on their home 256k unlimited plan.
 
can you tell us what you are expecting from enabling DHCP .
I do not suggest it unless it is compulsory . DHCP - wiki
 
I don't know.Doesn't enabling it increase the download sppeds or bring any other advantage ??
 
Enabling DHCP might affect the security of your computer .
[ actually it may not be doing anything good to a home user ]
