How to get a duplicate SIM Card for BSNL Mobile Connection?

I lost my bsnl 3g sim after I kept it in my purse. Whats is the procedure to get duplicate sim? Getting conflicting answers in the internet. How much should I have to pay and should an FIR be necessary for getting duplicate sim?

Go to police station File an FIR. then, Take your id proof and photograph with you to the exchange. They will charge you 150/-

They Will ask for the damaged sim card.

No need of FIR or police intervention. If the applicant name, photo and address matches the lost or damaged sim records, The same person has to be in person to get the sim.

From what I remember, I was able to get a nano-sim for my number without giving my old sim to the idea store. So you should not require a FIR if you just say that you bought a new phone and it does not support your current SIM

no FIR needed just head to exchange get a new sim , and your old will get deactivated.

For companies like airtel and docomo, no need for fir and all that stuff. But this being bsnl, im apprehensive. I hate going to bsnl exchange
