currently i have configured PPPoE in ont and used a lan cable to connect to TP-Linkrouter wan port, but im getting disconnection/speed drops atleast thrice a day
My Netlink v2801 SE also doesnt have any "bridge" option. When I deleted the WAN settings, it automatically switched to bridge mode. You could then try doing pppoe from my C6.

Yeah some modems are in Bridge mode by default . Just reset the ONTNetlink and connect your TP-Linkrouter through LAN cable . Put in your credentials via PPPoE on the TP-Link It should work .
Take a backup of your config file from ONT Admin page incase something goes wrong later
I deleted all wan connections in ont
And in TP-Linkrouter i set operation mode to pppoe and entered my user ID and password
