Hello

I am using BSNL 500 Home plan with Black Type II Sterlite Hewei Quidway modem. My OS is Windows XP with SP3 and I am at Kolkata.

I have been using this plan for almost 3 years. And I used to get a very high speed. Few days back for the first time in 3 years, I had to reformat my PC, and afterwards I am getting rather very low speed, at about 150-170 KBps only. I think I could not configure the IP address, Default gateway etc in LAN properly.

So could someone please tell me how to configure the LAN properly? And do I need to install PPPoE client software?

Please help :(

Thank you.

Thanks for the reply.

But what about Deafault Gateway and IP address?

The only problem with OpenDns is that it disables Firefox's Quick Search feature, which I use a lot. :( :ashamed:

I am using Firefox 2.0.0.15.

if you type anything in the Firefox Address bar and then press enter, then Google "I'm Feeling Lucky" search is done and the site is loaded directly.

Thanks for replying...

My browsing speed is alright, but I am having problem with download during Happy Hour of BSNL. At first the download speed is good, but as the time passes by the speed decreases almost by 100KBps, which never happened before the reformat. I ried both Torrent (both from public and private trackers) and normal download agent, :(
