Hello Friends,Can someone be kind enough to let me know how to share my bsnl broadband connection between 3 laptops.We have 3 laptops at home and one bsnl broadband connection ... currently we connect one laptop at a time using Huawei mt880.All of our laptops have wifi and we use windows xp. is it possible that we connect one laptop to the mt880 and other 2 laptops can share the net using wifi? without buying additional hardware?Please someoe let me know how to do it in simple language but the detailed procedure.Thanks in advance ...With Warm Seasons Greeting

well the easiest way would be to get yourself a wireless router. all the three laptops can then surf wirelessly in your house.bsnl i think does offer a wireless router for cheap.

I wont mind buying a wireless router ... but when you have wifi in all 3 machines then cant we just connect all the 3 machines and share the net?

wifi in laptops is basically one way. it is to 'receive' signals not broadcast.bluetooth on the other hand is two way. that's what i think. u really cannot connect a laptop to another laptop's wifi to browse the net 'through' it.mmm. i guess there is a way out.1. connect two laptops to each other by making an ad-hoc network between the two 2. do so for all 3 3. setup internet connection sharing (found in xp pro, vista business/ultimate, but not in any home edition) 4. thats all, but then u need to keep that main laptop on which u setup ICS, on all the time and connected

yes. Get a wifi router/modem from bsnl, configure it as dhcp server and let other settings remain same, configure all your laptop for "get ip address automatically" by this way you dont have to power/switched on atleast two laptop's same time(in case of bluetooth-bluetooth or enterface-bluetooth bridging) for tnternet access.
This setup will be more stable too than any other setup.
bsnlmodem(dhcp enabled)---\\-->laptop1,laptop 2 laptop 3 and so on.
dont forget to change your routers default password and use WEP/WPA/WPA2 (any one with atlast 20 charecture passphrase) encription and disable broadcast SSID.
