How to stop Google from using your router for their location service?

If you are a privacy fanatic... Loss is that your phone would take a while to locate you when you are on your home network. I mean it basically automatically assume that you are at your home when you connect to your home router. This is why I can even get GPS to work in the basement of the house perhaps. I basically was reminded about posting this from a Google+ post. A dude borrowed his friend's wireless router only to find out that his devices ended up showing that he was at his friend's place and not his own.
 
Only publicly available information is used. So I think that should cover the privacy concern :)
 
dunno. google was sued for collecting wireless information from consumers in USA or Europe. They had to come out with this workaround to allow consumers to opt out.
