Well, from now onwards remember now to disconnect the power cord when your laptop is in the process of turning on/off. This helps to enhance the battery life. When you have a electric line available, use that instead of being lazy to plug-in. :PAnd, from my part, buy the battery from an authorized HP store. Do no go for online purchases of things which are not covered by warranty/guarantee for more than a year. :)

You could have helped admin with chromebook for his dad, don't you think :(

i have already ordered one laptop and finding another one to order. still have 1 mobile and 1 battery (HP lappy) to order. last time had to pay 2500/- to customs as they have xrays machine at green channel now. So cant ask friend to get more stuff than that.

but as i said i always on ac power.......

didnt get ur 2nd point of why should not buy online....

@opera but the issue is i will have to buy 2 cheapo ups then, one for office and one for home, so wouldn't it be better to buy a battery???

i guess. get a quote from HP India. battery prices are obscene in india... Dell quoted me 10K for 6 cell and 15k for 9 cell battery :Di searched for alternatives from the US market. i had two options. dell's official battery 6 cell was priced at around 100 USD... i found an unofficial one 9 cell for around 50 dollars. i ordered the 50 dollar one. it works but the laptop restarts if i do high performance tasks. turned out to be a bad investment. stopped using the laptop after that. was not worth it.

Have a look at this:

The stores I suppose would quote a bit higher price but they are always up for some bargain.
