Huawei router firewall configuration

The broadband modem has been supplied by BSNL. PC runs on XP-pro SP2, fully patched, along with ZoneAlarm Free. Modem detail is : Huawei SmartAX MT882 ADSL router.I went through the instruction manual of the modem, but couldn't figure out how to activate the hardware firewall (or, whether it is already on). Shall be grateful for guidance.

Thank you for your reply. I am inserting a screenshot of my current settings
(MT882 firewall settings on Flickr - Photo Sharing!)
... these are as done by the BSNL engineer who installed the modem.

Do I need to change any of these for better security? I am just a plain computer user, and shall be grateful for advice by experts.

Explanation for the settings . seems default settings. I have Mt882 for the past 18 months and never bothered about this. I will check mine tomorrow.
Let it stay. If some sites are blocked or cannot be viewed you my have to review this page. .

Hello essbebe, just wondering if you have been able to check your MT882 settings. Although I do have ZoneAlarm, thought it might be wise to review the correct settings in the hardware firewall.Specifically, in home environment, does it matter if "Dos protection" is allowed or denied?And, what about "attack protection" ... should "allow" or "deny" be checked?Regards,
