umm it all started with 800. so nothing surprising there i guess.people dont buy vitara. they did not buy baleno. they would not buy sx4... they know the value for money aspect.

i dont like it overall but it definitely is better looking than santro and getz too... and does not look bad with black bumpers.


no car looks bad with black bumpers in ads and magazines and pics like these...but in reality it's different altogether

Swift isnt selling much now.........so no point .But whatever market it has ,it's going to take some part of it definitely.

in June 2007 (when i bought my swift), the waiting was well over 2 months...don't know if they're getting short of it or just not producing it...

though what i was told is that the demand is too high and they're having difficulties fulfilling it...

As far as Japanese versus Korean, I wud say

Akai/Aiwa-> Japanese-> Suzuki
Samsung/LG-> Korean-> Hyundai

Wonder why I didnt write Sony for Japanese , bcoz Honda/Toyota are the Sony. Suzuki is like Aiwa/Akai
And Hyundai is Samsung/LG.

So if u were to buy a TV wud u buy a Samsung or an Akai if both were at same price. Use common sense.

I am here for a visit in USA. I have seen a lot of Hyundai cars( which is the fastest growing brand in US in automobile sector). Although definitely not as many as Honda or Toyota or chevys but I am yet to see any Suzuki. Although I have seen a lot of ads of Suzuki on TV here.

So think and decide. Do not go by the korean vs Japanese. A top brand of Korean wud be much better than a low brand of Japanese

So dont be brainwahed by this Korean vs Japanese,. And yeah recently IBM was acquired by chinese Lenovo.
So this excuse is just to please urself only. Go 4 whichever u like.

i am pretty sure that if honda and toyota were in india since 1982-83.... they would have been in the same position suzuki is in india right now.suzuki might be a smaller player in japan. but they are bigger than honda and toyota in india.and btw. i would not buy Sony or a samsung or a LG or a aiwa or a akia. i had buy Philips.

Disagreed. There are very few cars that look good from all angles. The Honda City is one exception that comes to mind. But in the small car segment all cars look bad from at least one angle. The Estilo looks back when you look at it head-on. But from all other angles, I at least, think it looks quite decent. Especially with the nice alloys I have on it! :thumbsup:

Suzuki is a big player in India bcoz of Govt favours. There was no other player for over a decade. So it had monopoly.Suzuki is a big player only in India.......nowhere in world , not even in japan. I am not saying Suzuki is bad, but this japanese vs korean thing that people use to discredit Hyundai and credit Maruti is totally irrationalBut if u were to choose between Akai and Samsung only and both were at same price, which one would u choose.....remember u have to choose one
