I am getting 5-12ms to singapore csgo servers. How is it even possible?

It appears to ping dynamodb.ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com when Singapore is selected

Try pinging this in command line. 5-12ms is not possible from North India.

Latency from my location to my ISP server in Kolkata is 12 ms over fiber. (approx 180 Km) LOL

I know. It used to be 6 ms last year. There was an outage after that, and it became 12 ms ever since. When I raised a ticket, the call centre guy called me and told me that it was the same from his end (Kolkata to my town). He started lecturing me that people buy fiber connections for lower latency than mobile data! But he couldn't do anything about it because the "BTS" was overloaded! (WTF does that even mean!!!!!). This ISP LCO is the only one in my area, so I can't really do anything about it.

I have ping rates between 20-150ms on servers apparently hosted just 90kms away. So it's all about the routing, not just the phsycial distance between supposed server location and your house. There's a good chance a ping from Bangalore to Chennai goes via Singapore due to bad routing implementations.

I am not leaving my ISP network.
