I can't configure the router through Ethernet

Sir,
I can't configure the router through Ethernet Port, at the same time I can configure through the USB easily. So the problem is , through USB the broadband speed is only 10mbps. While attempting to connect through Ethernet by typing "http://192.168.1.1", the internet is offline. How cabn I Solve this problem ?

1.Do not connect both USB and ethernet cables to same computer. Use only one at a time.
( Don't ask me why? I don't know .)
2.Go to http://www.calcuttatelephones/dataoneinstall/menu.html
3. Select your modem and follow instructions.
4. Start/network/Local area network
both Usb and ethernet connection should appear.
5. Click ethernet connection. Properties.
6. TCP/IP properties.
7. Select Ip different to what is entered in usb
settings. usually 192.162.1.5 will do.
8. start run ipconfig
IP address 192.168.1.5
subnet mask 255.255.255.0
default gateway 192.168.1.1
