I can't get the connection through ethernet

Sir, I have getting the bsnl dataone connection only through USB and the broadband speed is only 10 MBPS. While trying to connect through Ethernet the errer message 678 displays on the screen. How can I solve this Problem?

you mean 10 MBPS or 10 kbps ??..TRY TO CONFIGURE WITH ETHERNET PORT and you PPPoe mode (always on and username and password in modem) in modem enable dhcp, NAT (dont give any ip to your connected pc ie. lan properties tcp/ip setting )..

Some setup might be wrong with your LAN card or you might need some updates... try 192.168.1.10 with subnet of 255.255.255.0

Please mention the make and model number of your modem.

1 See BROADBAND MAIN MENU Add this to your favorites.
2. You SHOULD not connect the USB cable and ether net cable from the Modem to same computer.
3. Start/ALL programs/ Accessories/Communications.
Select install a new internet Connection.
After you program correctly the LAN ( ethernet card) connection will appear in Network.
Allot a different IP or select Automatic IP address in the TCP/IP properties.

Also Please check up whether ether net card is installed.
Start/control Panel/system/Hardware/Device manager

DUNS Error 678 and 679
error 678 there is no answer . usually for dialup connections.

i had same problem few days back, reinstall ur ethernet card drivers,reboot the pc,now dissconnect the usb,connect ethernet cable to pc n modem and restart the modem,now dial 192.168.1.1 it should workthen create a new connection
