I Hate The (*) Terms And Condition Applied.

Mostly, there is vital information hidden behind the * symbol it may be crucial in terms of cost, days and other such core information that is often overlooked as we get carried away by the ad. Reading entire details maybe a tardy activity thats where offers take such advantage and cipher hidden costs. For example Dish tv Super Sports offer: Pay Rs. 1390 and get 2 Months subscription of Gold Pack + 2 Months Colors ala-carte doesn't mention about installation charges which is mentioned in the details of the T & C: Super Sports Offer Terms and Conditions*Installation charges of Rs. 200+ST extra.Channel count includes audio/video/ active services and DD direct channels. DD direct channels availability rests with DD Direct. The offer prices are inclusive of taxes, applicable octroi extra. Offer is valid across India. The offer prices include 3 years rent of CPE. After completion of the initial subscription period, the subscriber will have to opt for prevailing packages at the prevailing rates. After 3 years, rental @ Re 1/- per year shall be payable. But In Dishtv With all offer they clearly mention Rs.200 + Tax Extra as Installation charges.

All services have 'Terms & Conditions' attached with it. It may be Taxes, or hidden fees. Problem is when companies claim lower cost for service by hiding this charges.

now * stands for Rs. 200 installation charges + ST

So if i calculate it should be 1390+200=1590+10.3%ST=1753.77

Now they are providing free gold pack+colors worth 472...

So effective price for dish tv becomes 1753.77-472=1281.77...

These ads are very deceiving on the face of it one may have the first impression that Rs1390/- is the total cost whereas the hidden cost makes it equal to more than mentioned amount i.e f you include service tax and installation cost

Interesting observation, the tata photon plans do not have a "*" attached or a "Terms and conditions attached".Has led to some interesting conversations with the CC
