I used to have a Poco F4, which supports both LTE 700 and 2100MHz bands. For about a month, I used BSNL as my secondary SIM and had a good experience with speeds (average for calls). I consistently received around 30-45 Mbps outside (I live in a Tier 2 town in AP) and 15-30 Mbps inside my home.
Then, I exchanged my phone with a Pixel 7a from my sister and transferred both SIMs. Unfortunately, despite being newer than my Poco F4 and being 5G capable, it only supports the 2100MHz band(likely due to bad google's own chip and modem).
Now, my BSNL experience is extremely poor. I hardly get 3-4 Mbps outside and 1 Mbps inside.
The fact that BSNL customers are mostly budget-conscious and don't use high-end phones(not saying poco f4 is high-end but has good qualcomm chipset and modem) and are likely using old budget phones is also a recipe for disaster in terms of PR for BSNL. I wish they had used more commonly available bands.
