I want to buy a laptop 25-30k

The requirements are pretty straightforward:

1. Good battery back-up
2. Decent performance for web browsing, word processing and web conferencing.
3. 14" screen size

It's going to be used primarily for translation work. If it can run Photoshop for emergency use that would be great.

Received the laptop today. Got it for 25k after exchanging the six years old HP AMD based laptop.

The only disappointing thing about the laptop is the webcam. The quality is simply unacceptable.

Thats true for most low end laptops. Not sure why companies dont provide better quality webcams.

if you do a lot of video calls, you can get the Mi 720p one for 800 or so. Since some of their laptops dont come with a webcam, they supply that instead. Quality is pretty decent

I bought an Acer Aspire Lite recently (AL15-52) that's 15.6". 26k. i5-1215U/8GB/512GB. Upgraded RAM to 16GB and also bought the extended warranty officially from Acer (1.1k).

Performance is quite good and display isn't bad for a VA panel. Speaker absolutely sucks though. You're better off using an external speaker.

There's a 14" variant available that comes with an IPS display.

Seems like a good upgrade: The display is pretty decent, IPS and the viewing angles and vibrancy are great for the price. It has a matte finish throughout, and I happened to get a charcoal color unit, which was a pleasant surprise as I was expecting a silver color unit. The only major issue is that the speakers are absolutely terrible. There’s an app we can install to improve the sound a bit, but it’s the worst laptop speakers I have ever seen.

Looking for external HDD options for this laptop, any suggestions? @Nishant

If SSD, get the Samsung T7. If on budget, Crucial X6 should be fine.
