Sorry if the topic has been posted before (i don't know if it's been). I want to buy an LED tv under 50,000 rs. It should be more than 40 inches. I have a family friend who said he could get any Onida LED tv at 30-40% discount as he is friends with some top management guy in Onida (he also bought Onida LED at almost half the price). So Is Onida a good option? If I just go for low price, then Onida can give some performance related issues. I have an Samsung 32 inches LED tv, for 4 years Ive not had any issues with it. So, should I go for Onida (for a very low price of course) or some other better TV model? Thank you again.

Avoid Onida, you can go for Toshiba, Panasonic or samsung LCD's. Also Samsung has few models for plasma you can go for those i think its 43 inches.

I would also recommend avoiding Onida. Stick with either Samsung or LG for reliability. I personally like the colors and viewing angles of the LG LEDs though last time I checked they were priced around 55k for > 40 inch model.

If your friend has got an onida led tv already you can check that out first in terms of screen quality and features like DLNA, USB etc. Then see the price difference between a similarly featured TV from Samsung/LG and then decide.

I have been using Onida LCD 32 inches for close to 3 years now, I havent had any issues with it. Many years back I also had an Onida CRT TV which I had used for 7-8 years and had no issues with it. So that answers your question regarding the build quality of ONIDA.

When it comes to the other features of the TV its an individuals choice, I would consider myself an average tv viewer. I have connected my 32 Inch LCD to a Airtel HD Set top box and also a hard drive for watching full HD movies and tv shows. I am very much satisfied with the viewing experience. Also the Onida TV I have plays IDX/Sub subtitles which I cant do without, as i can format the subs according to my choice. Tried these sub formats on an LG, Sony and Panasonic TV's it doesnt work. So I am very much a satisfied Onida Tv customer.

Same here. It's been I think close to 2 years with my Onida 32inch LCD and not even a single problem. Build quality is decent too. But yes, if your budget permits go with Samsung or LG.

Its not about my budget. I could get a bigger TV in less money. Everyone wants to save money. I saw a model 40 led chroma model for 59000 rs, if I could get it @ about 30k it is a good deal. But was just concerned about the performance. Two users are satisfied with their experience while 2 users said not to go with onida, so its 2-2. Thank you so far for your suggestions friends..

If Onida is working fine for other guys, why wouldn't it work well for you.
I too had Bazooooka, and it never failed and was sent to another city and later was exchanged for LED and it also had that money back.
so how come Onida is a Bad or not so good company ????
And you will be saving 20K on MRP, so does it pinch you ;)
Lastly when you have connections with top bosses, you can also seek repairs if any thing does goes wrong.
you would be treated like a V.V.I.P. at service center, every employee would be running to help you when a call from HO Comes.

Its only the HEAP of BIG Brand Names, which lets them sell same config on higher price cause Demand Is There and its there product preferred.
If I had such an offer I would look no further and get it.
