Don't you renember Rang de basanti,Taare zameen par, 3 idiots and entire t.v. series with record ratings called 'satyameva jayate' . He has said before he is not a social activist but a entertainer but he contributes to society in a good way too.
 
I am going to state the obvious. He does a few commercial movies to pay the bills and then we get some social products like Satyamev Jayate and 3 Idiots. And nope, he is not a social worker. I am sure he made truck loads of money from Satyamev Jayate too but for that entire year he stayed away from personal endorsements.

entertainment/entertaining others doesnt help in nation building ?

Well. I can also recite movies like... Mann, Mela and of course Mangal Pandey.
 
I am guessing he wants to finish work on PeeKay (P.K.) first? I do not see any other project listed with his name on Wikipedia.
 
Well Dhoom 3 is finished and ready for release. PK seems to be still filming. If he is going to do SJ2, I am guessing he would avoid all movie and endorsement projects.
