not a retail bank... basically a service for indian companies operating in the US... financial services and stuff like that. they would be nuts to offer retail banking in the US. they would be fried with lawsuits.

US also has good bankruptcy laws. Can't pay up - declare bankruptcy. (Nearly) all debts disappear. But goons can make them reappear, can't they? 'Bad Debts Recovered', it is called.
