I experimented with my poor android phone (Samsung Galaxy 3, Its I5801)
so instead of writing the entire stuff again, you can read my post on XDA to speed up your android device and gain some speed.

Read the steps to speed up your android phone.

This should work with almost any android device, And I am pretty sure following these steps once a couple of months would
keep the phone smooth.

Im too using galaxy 3 (2+ years) and having the same prob as you mentioned on xda...Will definitely try this app.. Thanks

Which rom are u currently using on g3??

I am using Kyrillos 10.6, overclocked @ 1Ghz.

Update: Started using ZDbox (All-In-One toolbox). to speed up and its working more better as settings had an option to Auto-boost once Ram is below 50MB.

this one includes a easier cache cleaner and many new features like DND mode and Also the battery stats including info during charge is more precise and detailed.

tried the zdbox , works nice

but i couldnt find the apps white list ? how to add the exemption apps ?

Run Zdbox, not from widget, use it from App List or from Status bar.
Select Task Killer
This would list all your Baground running Apps
If it has Killed Apps recently, it would not show much in the list.
from the list
Touch the Check boxes you want to white list and it Dims, but shows a confusing Text " App Already in your whitelist" it should be "app Added to whitelist" for better understanding.

did this already , but once an app is killed to bring it on to the list need to run it again

and then uncheck the check box u are talking about .

it would be nice , if it has pre determined whitelist , so we can just add the apps to that list and leave it
