Don't repeat what? The human mind is more complex than you can imagine,

agreed !!

in the absence of this boy doing this, what if something else triggered the suicide, say one of her professors rebuked her in front of the class and that drove her to suicide. Would you advocate the same treatment for them too?

Of-course, thats what our legal system says. and I agree with it and by the way she didn't even attended any lecture after this incident.

And your adult argument goes against your point. When you are an adult, you are supposed to be mature enough to handle emotional stress.

Just to remind that even mentally retired people greater than 21 yrs are treated as adult. No further comment.

It's sad and that's it. No one is to blame. I am sorry but this wouldn't even have received any attention at all if the girl didn't study at an iim and Facebook wasn't involved.

So, you wanna justify that everyone should start updating their status after breaking, having sex etc etc with their so called affairs.

And bro, every such action is highlighted by Newspaper and Media, but if someone who needs compliments for having discussion of such topic here, its anant.del

Legally,they are not.

That's irrelevant. My point is that if someone does that to you, you should be mature enough to ignore it.

If you want to prevent someone from drowning, removing all the water near them will not work, you have to teach them how to swim.

There were more than 17,000 farmers who committed suicide in 2009. I tried but just couldn't find a news item on each one of them.

How ?? I didn't get it .

So, In this way someone can even rape and we can expect other to be mature enough to ignore this and move on !!! Bcoz even many galz suicide due to this reason too.

And wt if someone still fails to learn swimming, do we need to allow others to let them make others flooded.

Just check out small columns of daily newspaper, you will find one every alternate days .

Unknowingly causing harm and intentionally causing harm are totally different things.

And who knows abt future buddy whether an unknowing act can lead to deadlier consequences. And how will other get lessons if some strict action won't be taken.

mascot, in strictly legal terms, manu is right. causing harm is a crime(irrespective of intent or after effects). Ever heard of Section 304 IPC? moreover even attempting to commit culpable homicide not amounting to murder is a crime under 308. and of course in legal speak retarded people dont stand criminal trial. This was a casual oversight by the chap which might as well cost him his career to say the least. What with media ripping his happiness apart you cant expect the cops to stay put unless the guy is decently connected.

Too much hyperbole man. by "that" i meant someone writing shit on your facebook wall, not raping you.

The law specifically states that you have to have abetted the suicide. Abetment means to

1. To approve, encourage, and support (an action or a plan of action); urge and help on.

2. To urge, encourage, or help (a person): abetted the thief in robbing the bank.

There is absolutely nothing to suggest that the boy approved, encouraged or supported her suicide.

Where does the chain of responsibility end? Is Mark Zuckerberg responsible for creating a medium through which A debases B causing B to commit suicide?

Even her ISP should be on the line for not conducting a psychological check to see if she can handle the stresses of using the net

oh no... if they really give into such arguments, poor NIC people will be out of work tomorrow. Govt of India will be offline from tomorrow.

According to that gal, this small shit was enough to encourage her end her life.

According to me yes he is . His comment encouraged her for suicide. But won't argue until more details are highlighted.

In No way FB or Zuckerberg is responsible. The only responsible are 2 fools, the one who commented and the other who hanged herself .
