India Against Spam: Report spam SMS on Google Android!

Mine is Airtel too - So wondering if different software/system is running for different regions. This message was different for me in the sense , Usually I get a message that show cause notice is sent to telemarketer, but first time got that someone has been disconnected.

Reported around 10 sms using SMSpam ...could be a placebo effect , but there is some level of reduction in spams`

And i, as usual am stuck in in Idea. First they invariably reject the format. When i send the message manually, within 1 or 2 days i get their template reply that my complaint could not be proceeded with. I m now seriously thinking to kick the rear of Idea & move on to another provider.

New format has been prescribed by Idea Mumbai:

Dear Customer, Incorrect format used. Please send: COMP TEL NO XXXXXXXXXX; dd/mm/yy; TIME in hh:mm;. SMS should be max 160 characters

For eg:

COMP TEL NO 8586842019; 29/04/12; TIME in 09:21; Lottery fraud

Ok.. Got a message saying with Ref:No so-so, telemarketer has been disconnected due to repeated violations, so some moral victory, I guess..

That's good.
Yest for the 1st time i got a Ref no for reporting. have reported abt 20 sms's so far.
funny thing is that i get spam only on airtel prepaid, on my airtel postpaid i haven't got a single spam Sms or call since last 1 yr when i ported from Idea.

Idea was a nightmare, daily 5-6 spam sms used to come.

I think it might also have to do with the fact that the number is let out in some places... Especially stores/online who may share it.

Hope he does see it here... Because he has not replied to Jaymin from 29th as well.. Maybe you can try emailing him if he doesnt respond here in the next few days.

Whoa! That's the first time I have seen a clear message from provider about disconnecting the offender. This thing actually works then

I was wondering why didn't you reply to the mail for so long . You are on Idea, Delhi, right? Can you send me a text message which actually worked for you?
