Indian Meteorological Department to launch TV channel

MUMBAI: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) is planning to come up with a TV channel by year-end. The proposed channel will provide weather news.
The channel will be launched as a public-private partnership and initially be on the air for six hours every day. It will keep people informed about the latest on the weather front, reports IANS.
IMD is also planning to give priority to upgrading surface observatory, communication, forecasting and public relations.
