Since many sun direct installations are through, I will appreciate a feedback on the following:
1. Is the installation professionally done - not hotch-potch as the cable operators were doing?
2. How long does it take to install and make the system operational?
3. How customer registration is done?
4. What are the features - EPG, setting of preferences, reminder, etc. ?
5. Is there facility to tune non-sun-encoded channels from insat4B and other satellites?
6. What is done for anti-piracy? TS has a particular number flashed on different areas of the screen frequently - very irritating.
7. Is the volume level uniform for all channels? (Not in TS)
8. Is it recommended to switch of the STB when not watching? (In TS the power consumed by the STB is the same (about 18 watts) whether
TV is on or not. To save energy it is better to switch off STB and TV.
9. How long it takes to initialise after switching on?
10. What extra feature/function is available as compared to TS and DishTV?
1. ya......it is done professionaly....no problem in installation,installation team is trained professionals.......
2.it takes 30 minutes to install dish and other things.....system starts working after installation.....u can receive only DDD+ channels....activation of sun direct channels is done after 24hrs......
3.Subscription application form is sent to sundirect and using smarcard no and stb no they generate Customer id for future references...
4.EPG is fully not avialble now.......epg available for some channels
5.YES,:thumbsup: u can add channels from other service providers and satellites also...
6.yes..in sundirect also small text is displayed but not frequently it didt distrub u in watching tv.....
7.dont know about that have to check..
8.no u can switch off ur stb when not watching..but during activation stb should be switched on....
9.it take around 3-5 seconds to initialize after switch on...
10.Till there is no extra feature or function available in sundirect compare to ts&dishtv......the only difference is u can add channels from different satellites which is not possible in
Tata Sky and dishtv.....
