Integrated Videocon d2h+ DTH STB in TV/DVD players

No prizes for guessing that Videocon would make inbuilt DTH STB's in their TV/DVD players, that was highly expected.

May be I will wait n buy an integrated LCD TV STB as I am planning a second TV, but have to wait for some time to connect to d2h as its launch here at bangalore is awaited. Currently D2h available only in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh & Jammu & Kashmir.

Not necessary. you can buy another STB and use it along with videocon TV as well.

TVs with in built in computer, with inbuilt video recorder ( both cassette and vcd/dvd) have failed miserably in all markets so far. We must wait to see the success of this new venture.

I think this is a smart move. I was also checking out the prices of their products, and a 32" LCD comes for I think 25 K, which is pretty cool. One needs to keep in mind the market that Videocon caters to, and for that market, both the pricing, and the fact that they don't need to hunt for a new cable connection are a big bonus. Not to forget that Videocon makes bucks not only from its TV sales, but also from the monthly subscriptions. Looks a big winner to me.
