I'm not sure how many of you have faced this problem, but this is like an everyday occurence for me. I use the MTNL 450TC1 (but i am thinking of upgrading to another which i chose in another thread). Now, i do not use the ethernet cable, only Wifi. Occasionally, the Internet light on the router vanishes, sometimes for minutes, sometimes for hours. It's really annoying. The only way i know to fix it is to call someone, mostly call myself, with the landline. This reactivates the Internet light. However, about half the time, the light vanishes again after some time. I read online that a permanent fix to this is to buy a new router. Is this true? And, is there any other way of fixing this that does not include buying a new router?

70 views no replies? Cmon guys i really need to fix this problem. It's getting really annoying. I can't even play multiplayer games anymore. I was about to finish a 150,000 dollar heist in GTAO when it stopped. I really, REALLY need an answer

Maybe the splitter is faulty if not loose wiring or joints.

No joints, 3 wires, one goes straight to the phone, one to the router, and the last on to a plug on the wall, or socket, whatever they are called. So, I have to change the splitter?

Again - Listen to the dial tone. Do you hear any crackling?
Take the splitter out of the equation for a while. One wire. Connect one end to the modem & the other to the wall socket.
See if there is any improvement in the line stats.
If there is no change, remember the BSNL line comes from the outside, from a Junction Box/Panel. The problem may be there.

Open 192.168.1.1, Under Advance option click DNS. Unchecked the "obtain DNS server Automatically"
Enter Primary DNS and Secondary DNS. Click Apply.

First of all please clarify that is it the internet light that keeps turning off or ADSL/DSL which is turning off, by the looks of your modem stats, line looks perfect i.e. adsl/dsl should be stable. And if it's the internet light than you cannot do much, just complaint to MTNL and don't rush into buying new router now.
