I was used to doing that on a 32k line ie Browse+ftp, if you use a hosts list and ignore graphics.I meant what applications does this guy use that would need such a high bw rate. Sure its nice, things arive in seconds as opposed to minutes & hours. But seems high price to pay just for that.

look at his member title...he's mentioned it there!!!The Village Idiot :lol:just kidding!!! ;)

yea, its sarcasm for me being stuck amongst village idiots :)1mbps is the bare minimum for decent broadband experience... for example, installing linux over ftp, takes almost the whole day on my 512kbps, on 1 mbps should be bearable.just think, download the opensuse.org 5 CD ISOs... 3.5 GB will take you 3 days on a 128k connection... but half a day on a 1mbpslife will be better with 1 mbps :)

well, like money, broadband is also never too much...the more u get u want to get more than that... :)

err yeah.but how often are you gonna download a distro. certainly not every week ?Even if you were how many distros do u want to try out.1 month with 128k will get u 15-20GBs, thats what at least 20+CDs worth. It will take u a lot longer than thatn hat to figure them out completely+testing etc anyways.

hmm, yep, i guess i got the settle for low speeds and low download limits... low class broadband :)boohoo

till there's more competition...i'm expecting that when reliance comes in picture...let's see...

Yep, even my uncle who lives in NJ pays a flat $20/month for a 3mbps connection. But, it's the US, they'll always have the best of everything....... *sigh* So no point comparing. Will just end up depressed. :P
